Pilates Workout for Reformer Class in Santa Monica

Decided I would the pilates exercises I did with my 2 classes this morning...
Both classes were full...teaching 9 people on the reformer in each class was challenging but felt great to be able to reach so many at a small time.

One of the classes had to do a bit more straight ab work, so you'll see a lot of flexion during the arm series.

Footwork
2nd Heels, 1st toes, 1st heels everything glued together
1 foot on footbar, 1 leg reaching out and "kicking" back with foot flexed, slow controlled
Heel Lowers

Coordination - variations
bow/arms extended/legs extended - opening/closing with control
bow/arms extended/legs extended - scissors up/down with control
bow/arms extended/legs extended - alternate legs open - back to midline with control

Arms - flexion and leg slides - after a few reps in table top
Ribcage Arms
Angel Arms
Triceps
Circles

"Reverse Crunches" - movement happens at hips and works lower abs
Keep Legs In Table Top - Arms up in "start position" - draw ankles toward hands
Turnout in Table Top - like frog position - same movement

Up/Down with straight or softened knees
up/down - external rotation
up/down - internal rotation
Extended Frog

V's
Long Spine

Short Box
-Hug A Tree
-Serve A Platter

Short Box Abs

Tilt-Twist
C-curve - arms up and down holding the c curve
Kayak - holding c-curve - arms straight going side to side
Side Overs - hands behind ears, arms up, then with a twist at the top.
(stretches in between the side over sets on each side)

Long Box
Pulling Straps Series - Arms Straight Back, Angel Arms, and Triceps

Butt facing shoulder rests - Legs in Straps - over thigh
Slowly roll down to lay with head toward springs - protect head
Hands by ears - curl up to bowed position
-Pull Knees In/Out - upper body doesn't move
-Armpits toward Thighs - legs in table top not moving
-Everything comes together

In btw sets - extend arms (carefully) over head to stretch out abs

Short Butt Blaster Series - Side lying leg/hip series

Eves Lunge -
1st 10 lunges with hands on hips
Then the actual psoas stretch

Inner Thigh Stretch
Switch Sides
Finish

Yes this didn't have my usual Long Stretch Series or Knee Folds but the girls wanted a lot of traditional ab feeling exercises, so I obliged!
