There is no shortage of balls, rings, and other small items to help you and your client change their workouts slightly. Hopefully you don't rely on the props for all of the pilates exercises, but sometimes doing a ball workout or a foam roller workout is a fun way to shake things up.

I've found a great tool that I use in my own workouts (pilates, but also in my circuit training). There are a ton of pilates exercises you can do and your clients will get stronger and might want a pair for home!

The Valslides are 2 sliding oblong discs. That's it. You place them under your feet or under your hands. They increase core work when doing stability exercises like plank, mountain climber, and some variations that will feel very familiar to you if you work on the reformer.

Some Tips on Using the Valslides in a Pilates Workout:

1. Only use them if it will enhance the exercise you are trying to teach the client. Keep in mind this is a variation prop - not a modification prop. The exercises performed on the Valslides makes most moves more difficult. Start with the original pilates exercise and then add 1 or 2 valslides.

2. Use the Valslide if you can't get to a reformer or don't have room to cart your other balls, weights, etc. to your client.

3. Instruct your client (or yourself) to move from the center at all times. The pilates principles are even more important when using the Valslides. Breath, Control, Stability and Neutral Spine are really important things to cue and remind.

4. I typically do straight classical pilates exercises and then will do a series of 3-4 valslide exercises...then go right back to the classic, basic exercises. This helps the client get right back into the mindset that they are taking pilates not just getting a personal training session.

5. Don't be afraid to experiment!

6. Email Valerie Waters for additional exercise ideas. She is always there to help out and provide additional support to her valslide devotees!

Once you get the hang of using Valslides in your private sessions, try bringing them out in your small group classes. It's fun to jump off the reformer or wunda chair or from the mat and do a few challenging core exercises. Your clients will thank you for the change...and so will your body if you are doing them at home!

Also, let me know if you try them out! I love to know how people are using the valslide in their pilates classes. I think fusing traditional work with new fitness strategies really keeps in line with Joseph Pilates own spirit of invention. I could be wrong, but I do think he was open minded enough to discover new ways to get the work done and challenge the body. Are you?

For more articles that talk about how I started using Valslides, check out my main blog:

Anne Samoilov Blog
Pilates for Weight Loss ?

The Benefits of Eye Focus During Pilates and Fitness Ab Work Exercises

via centerworks.com

{check out this interesting article from http://www.centerworks.com about using eye focus to enhance effectiveness of ab exercises} What are you looking at?

Posted via web from Anne's posterous

Get Great Pilates Reformer Workout At Home! This is what I do to more complex lessons that I don't "get" the first time through.

Even though I have technically finished the Thirty Day Challenge, I'm only beginning my education, so join me!

Almond Crusted Chicken

I have a client who has MS and she really loves the way pilates makes her feel. I'm looking forward to sharing this with her, but I also wanted to share it with other teachers who might've missed this post on Pilates-Pro.com

Working With Multiple Sclerosis on the Pilates Reformer:

by Mary Kay Hausladen Foley, PT, GCFP

Foley (r.) with a patientPilates instructors know well that the Reformer is an excellent tool to work on strength, flexibility, motor control and balance. For these reasons, the Reformer is also an extremely useful tool for working with people with multiple sclerosis. I have worked with a wide variety of MS patients over the last 23 years, as a physical therapist and as a Pilates Reformer instructor, in association with The Heuga Center for Multiple Sclerosis (the very mission of which is to empower MS patients; its motto is “Can Do”). Some patients have such mild symptoms that an outsider would never guess that they have the disease, while others can be quite debilitated it. For the MS population, the Reformer can be invaluable for work on functional changes in areas where motor control or muscle function is compromised.

Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system. It is a chronic and usually progressive disease in which the immune system attacks the myelin—the layer of insulation around nerve fibers—in the brain and spinal cord. This leads to a decrease in nerve function, which causes symptoms that vary from patient to patient and in severity, such as weakness, fatigue, spasticity (a condition we’ll discuss later on in this article), bladder dysfunction, pain, vertigo, decreased balance, cognitive deficits and speech and swallowing difficulties. Because multiple sclerosis affects motor control, the majority of people diagnosed with the disease experience walking difficulty at some point. Research indicates that number is somewhere between 64 and 85 percent. In fact, 70 percent of MS patients report that walking is the most challenging aspect of their disease. Within 15 years of diagnosis, 50 percent of multiple sclerosis patients require assistance walking and, in later stages, up to a third of patients are completely unable to walk. More than 400,000 Americans have multliple sclerosis: most are between the ages of 20 and 50, and women are twice to three times as likely to be affected than men. Worldwide, MS may affect 2.5 million individuals.

Though Pilates exercise will not change the disease process, it can help people maintain strength and function longer than would otherwise be possible. There are, however, special considerations that a Pilates instructor should be aware of when working with someone with MS."

Pilates Teacher Video Series

I haven't done a video for a few weeks now. Mostly because I don't think quantity indicates quality! The same goes for teaching pilates. I try to get my clients out of the habit of counting their reps. I'm not there to count their repetitions...

Still people like to know how many more they have to do, so they can pace themselves.
So, I'm also trying to count when I know it matters to them and their bodies.

Here's the most recent video I did for my Teaching Pilates video series. And if they aren't, you should start asking your current clients to tell their friends about pilates and offer to let them come in for free!

The main method I use to find new clients or even potential clients is online.

You might have a website, maybe a blog, maybe 2 blogs...but are you getting anyone to come to these sites? Well, here are two ways to get my traffic to your site. Building backlinks that point to your site and submitting your site to web directories.

Now, I'll tell you a secret. I still don't have a proper website or sales page and I'm still getting people contacting me for sessions. I'm working on it - don't judge LOL. How? Well, with all my various free blogs, main website (which truthfully is not what it should be at all!), I have a very specific secret weapon which helps me build backlinks to my sites and also gets me listed in many web directories automatically. Now, I could do this by hand and search for the directories ... and I do some of that yes because it's great to be listed in relevant pilates directories.

The bulk of my submissions are through a tool called Traffic Bug.

Here's what it does - this is directly from their inner members area.

"Social Bookmarking. Social bookmarking is an extremely effective technique for getting new sites indexed faster by Google. Not only that but the links from social bookmarking sites can generate a nice increase in your sites rankings as well. To top it all off social bookmarking can be extremely effective at raising your sites natural traffic volumes.

Directory Submission. Directory Submissions is a technique that has been around for quite some time. Directory Submissions is a great way to build a large volume of back links back to your site. A very large portion to SEO is how many back links you have pointing to your site. Traffic-Bug is one of the very few software's if not the only one that completely automates Directory Submissions. There are other software's out there that can do directory submissions but not like Traffic-Bug. With Traffic-Bug you can simply set and forget and it will go on and on building you backlinks and even solving the CAPTCHA for you!

RSS distribution. This is another greatly powerful method to raising your sites rankings and helping get a site indexed as well as slightly improving natural traffic. RSS aggregators take your RSS URL and display them on their sites. Not only will this allow a chance for real visitors to follow your link back to your site but it provides link juice and can help with rankings.

Search Engine Submissions. There are hundreds of search engines on the web and Traffic-Bug ensures that you will be listed on all of them. Currently the software already does 139 Search Engine submissions. Even if some search engines aren't that popular it could still provide you some traffic you might not have received otherwise." Traffic Bug Website

Give Traffic Bug a look and see if you might be able to use it to promote and grow your pilates business. It has seriously increased the number of backlinks to my site!

Check Out Traffic Bug today: http://bit.ly/15Lz9V

Teaching Pilates Day 16 More About Finding Your Niche

I'm learning how to use Powerpoint to create simple presentations...so I decided I'd make a few videos using it. For a long time, I felt like I would actually limit my business by defining a small group of people to target. I was so wrong! Once I realized who my specific market should be, I focused all of my attention on how to reach those people. Suddenly, I wasn't wasting my time by casting a large net over the pilates-saturated Los Angeles area!

Defining your market in a metropolitan area is even more crucial than if you live in a small town. There is so much competition for pilates in many areas like Los Angeles -- studios are cropping up everywhere and are offering unlimited pilates memberships and a wide variety of classes in their schedules.

How can a new mom like myself who has limited hours to teach compete with that? The answer is that you really can't.

That's why focusing on a group of people and giving them personal, positive attention and value is the way to go.

Ok - so, you picked a market but you still don't have any pilates clients...what now...

The short answer is that you can't just pick your market and be successful...what if your market doesn't even exist where you live? You need to find out what type of people do live and work in your area? You need to do a lot of research and really understand these people. See where people are shopping, eating, working out...and then...you need to do some searching on line.

Start with local city searches like yelp.com, citysearch.com, and then google/yahoo local business listings. Get yourself listed in these directories if nowhere else. Imagine how many people are looking up: <your city> pilates.

Do you need help figuring out your pilates market? Do you want help defining what and how many people are searching for pilates in your specific area? I wanted to start making videos, get more comfortable in front of the camera...and provide some valuable information to new teachers. For the next 30 days, I will do my best to make a video every single day about some aspect of teaching. I won't leave anything out or try to talk about topics that I haven't experienced personally. This is my experience as a teacher. I know that everyone has a different journey...and this is mine. Let me know if you have any questions or would like me to speak about any specific part of teaching.

Stay tuned for some interesting posts about dealing with difficult clients and finding clients that you absolutely love!

Today I posted 3 new videos to cover Day 2, 3, and 4. I couldn't make vids over this past weekend, so I made sure to catch up today!

Since today is actually day 4 - here's the video! It's all about the value of connecting with your clients on a personal level.

Pilates Teaching Tips Video

Hey everyone! I just started a Pilates Teaching series where I share tips, advice, and bits of wisdom from my first years of teaching. I said I was going to do one video per day, but the weekend is turning out to be a bit difficult. Here is the intro video and day 1 where I talk about the things I learned my first year of teaching!

Enjoy and please leave your comments or send me a message.

5 Ways to Build Successful Client–Instructor Relationships

This is a great article from Pilates-Pro.com which I wanted to share with the new teachers that come to this site! Between the high unemployment rate, the dismal housing market and crooked Wall Street investors, some Pilates businesses are facing new challenges. Yet despite the weakened economy, there are still people willing to spend money on Pilates training, but keep in mind the rules have changed. Now more than ever, a client has to really feel that he or she is benefiting from each and every session. This means that client–instructor relationships have to be strong, positive and mutually beneficial.

What makes for a successful instructor–client relationship? How can you make a difference in the life of a client? What can you do to keep the client loyal to both you and the Pilates method? How do we as instructor keep our clients during these bad economic times? Read on…

1. Establish Realistic Goals
If you promise every client that he or she will lose 10 pounds and have abs of steel after a few sessions, you might get a lot of clients at first, but they probably won’t stick around for long. That doesn’t mean you tell your clients that they can’t expect much in the way of changes. After all, who one wants to spend time and money doing something that won’t result in a better body? Just don’t over-promise. Too many promises and unrealistic timeframes make an instructor sound more like an infomercial and less like a highly trained professional.

2. Be Positive
People like positive feedback. They want to feel good after their sessions not just physically, but emotionally too. I had a client once who had always been told she was clumsy and uncoordinated. I made a point of telling her that she was doing a great job learning some new and complicated moves and that her body awareness was increasing after each session. She was thrilled. I doubt anyone had ever told her this before. By focusing on things she did well I helped her to develop some much needed self esteem.

I once took a class in New York and the instructor was so negative I almost cried (actually, I think I did). I learned from that experience that being overly negative doesn’t accomplish much of anything and often results in an unhappy client.

3. Make the Sessions Enjoyable
Pilates has to be fun. It can be hard work, it can be sweaty and it can be a struggle at times, but it has to be enjoyable or the clients won’t keep coming. Lisa Healy of Epiphany Health Studio in Marietta, GA, says, “I want every class to be a wonderful experience, so that when clients finish class they say, ‘Wow, that was a great class and I really felt it.’” By not being a slave to the clock and by really connecting with each client Healy feels she can develop a positive atmosphere in her studio.

4. Take a Personal Interest in the Client
Some instructors have a very outgoing and friendly personality, and it’s easy for them to take an interest in each and every one of their clients. Others tend to be shy or somewhat disinterested and they have to work harder at building a rapport. Every once in awhile I have a client who just wants to do his or her session and not spend much time chit chatting, but in my personal experience, this is rare. I try to learn as much about the client as possible so that they can feel open and honest with me about many things, not just Pilates.

Melissa Pope of Alternative Fitness in Charlotte, NC, believes by taking a personal interest in clients she has contributed to their overall well being. Says Pope, “ I have had several elderly clients who have had many health issues and came to me as a way to help restore function and improve their quality of life. By taking a personal interest in their overall lifestyle including family interactions as they influenced their state of mind, additional physical activities, sleep patterns, etc., I improved my ‘Pilates’ relationship with them greatly.”

5. Hone in on Your Teaching Skills
With all the training we get as instructors, we often forget how to be good teachers. We have a huge toolbox with choreography, technique and anatomy, but we often forget how to teach. Teaching is about communicating with the client in such a way that your knowledge is transferred from you to him. That doesn’t mean you can force someone to learn The Snake when you think they are ready, but it does mean you can help them progress from basic movements to more advanced ones at a mutually agreed upon pace.

It’s always crucial to have a good working relationship with your clients if you hope to succeed. It is especially important today when people are forced to make rationale economic choices. If a client is not getting what he or she wants from Pilates or if a client is not happy with you as an instructor, he won’t stick around. In order to continue running a successful business, client retention is crucial. A successful and strong instructor/client relationship is necessary to keep your business healthy and profitable even during tough times.

Devra Swiger has been teaching Pilates since 1999. I was so inspired by it that I immediately contacted 2 of my clients who have really needed some extra support lately.

Do you thank your clients for coming into class with great energy? Do you thank your clients just for showing up? What about thanking them for doing a great job and showing a lot of improvement?

I always try to spend a few moments at the end or beginning of class to connect with clients with some casual conversation and sometimes make a point of thanking them for coming to class. I do this mostly because I like to show gratitude for the people/things in my life. I also do this because I want my clients to feel that their efforts to change their bodies are worth it.

I recently thanked a handful of clients who've sent client referrals to me in my newsletter. I also like to send personal emails when I can to individuals who are trying to reach a specific goal. I like to do anything I can to let them know that I support their efforts and notice their achievements. I think people like this. I know I like it when someone notices me!

In this post I read this morning, the trainer made personalized videos for his clients, which I think is fabulous. Imagine getting an email from your trainer with a special message just for you. How motivating is that? To me, this is a priceless, easy form of support you can give clients who need that extra push.

What do you do to support and thank your clients? How can you give a client that extra bit of motivation he/she may need? She showed me that there is a different way to present your business -- online. Many of us do not market our pilates businesses online. We get clients through word of mouth and traditional marketing techniques.

Maria Andros will make your head spin. She has put together a blueprint for using Social Media to build your business - and a network of people who become your tribe. These include your clients, people who follow your career and will support you for years to come!

She just re-launched her highly effective Social Media Traffic Blueprint program last week. I know there are some spots left and I hope you take the time to check her out. Some are stern, stoic, strict...a bit scary. Some are very professional, but giving and exciting to go to. Some are very casual and everyone is friends -- even with the owners. Every place has a different image and a different energy. The combination of personalities in clients and the trainers create so many different variations of places that almost anyone can eventually find a place they feel comfortable.

If you are a teacher who teaches at a few different locations, you might notice this immediately! Sometimes, it takes a little awareness to size up the studio and figure out how you should fit in.

Yesterday, I had a conversation with a trusted friend and client at a studio where I just started teaching. She gave me some really good feedback about how I conducted classes vs. the other more senior instructors at the studio. You see, this friend also knew me from classes I taught at another studio...where the entire vibe of the place was much different.

My friend mentioned to me that she noticed that since our class was small that day that I tended to chat a bit more with 2 of the girls. She told me that I should just be aware that the other classes had very personal humor, chit-chat, etc. in them, even though I don't really do that in mine on a regular basis.

Her words were a good reminder that I need to be more aware of my surroundings. While I will always put my personality, humor and personal remarks into a class--that's just me, deal with it--I do a few things to keep the class in tune with the studio's overall environment:

1. I try to keep the class paced so that there isn't a lot of random chatter. People are stretching or moving springs. No time to chat.

2. I move to another exercise or modify it if I feel people are struggling and start chatting.

3. I try not to talk about my daughter --which can get out of hand for most new moms. I usually wait until the end of class or if someone asks.

4. I never take phone calls during class. I've seen teachers do this and I think it's so disruptive. Unless there is an emergency.

5. I give people personal attention by cueing them individually if they need it.

6. I respect the owners of the studio no matter what.

7. I try to make my personal connection with people before or after the class.

These are just off the top of my head...I'm sure I'll think of more.

I am truly grateful for the various studios I've worked in. They have shaped how I teach -- some not for the better, but most of them show me my strengths/weaknesses/remind me why I love to teach!

I wanted to share this because if you are taking classes at some studios or teaching at different studios, be aware that every place is different. Get the most out of wherever you are by understanding your surroundings. Be respectful of everyone at all times and enjoy the challenge of reaching your clients

Fill Up Your Classes and Get More Clients...

Has your pilates studio or business declined a bit in the past year due to the "economy"? Have even your long term clients stopped coming so often? Do you have an introduction package or customer appreciation package? Have you lowered ANY of your prices?

Well, maybe you don't need to lower prices. But you do need to find some new ways to fill up your schedule, your group classes, and your private sessions.

I think it might be time to take a few tips from Personal Trainers. Even though pilates instructors go through a different set of training and the overall industry is different in many ways, the essence of what we do is train people on a personal level. Even in our group classes, we try to give people individual attention. We have the same goals as personal trainers.

So, taking the lead from other personal trainers, very successful ones, I started offering FREE PILATES SESSIONS and TESTDRIVES. I know...free sessions. Sounds crazy, right? But, why do we have such resistance to giving away free sessions? I know we want to get paid for our time, but offering people a free session or a free class is a great way to get people in the door. They get a LOT of value - we know that - and if we take the time to talk to them before and after to get detailed information on their goals, we can remind them throughout the session/class why pilates would be great for them.

So, as much as you don't want to give away FREE PILATES. To me, it's better than just lowering prices. Lowering prices doesn't TELL people ANYTHING about what you have to OFFER. People still don't buy off the page or by seeing a lower price tag -- unless they know already what you offer and are already buying from you. You need to find a way to give away some of your valuable services to show people how Pilates will benefit their lives.

Here are some reasons you should try this technique (some of these are very obvious):

1. Free Sessions show the potential client exactly what they will get if they sign up for classes.
2. People are going to decide pretty quickly if they like you and/or the class. You aren't wasting your time.
3. People do appreciate that they are there for free. Every single person that has come to one of my classes for free tells me emphatically at the end how good they feel and thank me for letting them come to the class.

Still not sure about giving away pilates...try it with your group classes first. Having one or two free people in a class is not going to break you. It will only make your class bigger and more fun for everyone!

Have a great day and don't be afraid to give a little.

My Sunday Pilates Classes!

Sunday is a big pilates class day for me. I teach in 2 different studios in Santa Monica and sometimes have a class as big as 10 people!

I sometimes get asked if I create one class for the entire day or if I change the classes each time!

With 4 or more classes in one day, I do like to make a plan for the day. Often, I'll start with a basic class that I change/modify or vary depending on the clients in each class -- and also the types of machines.

Starting this weekend, I'll share with you the basic class I taught and you'll see exactly how I changed it for each group of people.

Have a great day!

If you are thinking about becoming an instructor or just started teaching, you might find this interesting...my new free ebook on how I survived pilates certification: http://bit.ly/ZPRCc

Talk to you soon!

Teaching Group Classes vs. Teach Private Sessions

I've been teaching a lot of group reformer classes lately...and I have to say, they are really growing on me! I love the energy of my students and the excitement when we do slightly varied/modified exercises...it's really so much fun. I know that private sessions are supposed to be where the money is, but if I could teach just group classes, I would! Here are the reasons why:

1. Like I said before, if you have a great group of students, the class can be as much fun for you as it is for them. Even when the mood is serious, you feel compelled to deliver a really challenging class.

2. You get to help a bunch of people at once reach their goals.

3. You have to think on your feet and multi-task when dealing with a group of different bodies. When I multi-task - you can't sit and analyze, you must stay in tuned with all the different issues that might exist in the different bodies. It's a challenge I love!!

4. You are more concerned with giving people a stand-alone workout as opposed to a private client who you might be progressing slowly through the exercises from beginner to intermediate.

5. I really feel that the future of pilates could be in creative group programming. The economy is calling for the change and they can get the same thing elsewhere -- like gyms and other fitness clubs. Don't you want people to learn pilates the right way -- instead of from someone who might not have a ton of experience at a larger gym? Think about offering more group classes and see what happens...

I know this was a super general post, but I just had to share that teaching group pilates classes is so fulfilling when you look at it as a training ground for the future. SAFETY - Keep your clients safe at all times. If you aren't sure if someone is strong enough to do something, modify and simplify the exercise. Bring them down to the mat or try it without the straps on the reformer. If they perform your modification well, move them to the next level. It's better to start slow even if the person claims to have done pilates before or works out, or whatever. You are in charge of keeping them safe.

If there is anything that you must always do...it is to remember safety, safety, safety.

2. PROPS - Use them sparingly. It's easy to want to try a bunch of different tricks when you are first teaching. You know it makes people feel like you are keeping the moves fresh, like you somehow know more, or maybe you know that people tend to feel more with certain props. All of these things are great, but what is even better is teaching a class with NO props and having people come to you and say, "wow, I've never felt my muscles in that way." It's easy to get caught up in a prop game. I know personally. Instead of creating exercises with props, how about creating new ways to cue people. Watch videos, go to classes, read books...see how other people cue and try on a few for yourself.

3. KEEP THE CLIENT MOVING - I know you have to give people a rest, but keep them moving at an even pace, so they don't lose focus. Even if it's a rest type position, keep them moving. I've had many clients who stop and then like to chat...then work out a bit, then stop. I strive to shorten the talky time and increase the movement with purpose. I love it when no one has a chance to speak in my group class. I can see they are all focusing on the exercises. This doesn't mean you have to pump through your class too quickly, just pace yourself and notice when people stop...give a new cue you never gave before, walk over to them and make even a small suggestion to increase the effectiveness of the

4. TEACH THE SESSION BEFORE IT HAPPENS. What do I mean by this? Write down the routine you will follow. Say it out loud in the car on the way to the session. I still do this. Even though the client or the class needs a bit of modification when you actually get there, you will be more prepared if you know what type of class you are teaching. That way, those things you can't control -- like a person with a back issue, or foot issue or just "issue" in general doesn't throw you off your game. Come with a plan but understand that you might need to adjust how you teach the material once you see your clientele.

5. TAKE YOUR TIME. Try to connect with your client and ask them what they hope to achieve with pilates. You will be able to change the focus on the work easily if you listen to what your client wants and needs are!

There is a great article available at which talks about some of the above issues and expands on more reminders for new teachers. I always find short pilates workouts, yoga and stretching workouts, and when I'm up for some fat burning and more in depth workout, I go to Jillian Michaels tab. She is such an inspiration for me. I know some people might be turned off by that kinda power biatch mode she goes into, but she knows what she's talking about AND gets you OFF YOUR ASS!

I have just turned 2 of her workouts into separate pilates classes. Basically, I designed a few pilates classes that can be done as circuits -- using the jumpboard, the reformer, and mat exercises. It's very exciting and I'm working out the kinks this week! It's been around for awhile, but over the last 2 months it has gained this crazy momentum and it seems EVERYONE is TWEETING...

I thought it take awhile for an article to surface on a pilates site, but oh how wrong I was... Following is a re-print of the article found on Pilates-Pro.com about Twitter and Pilates!

.............................

By Amy Leibrock

Twitter Pilates

“Returned from 60min Pilates! Instructor from abroad, he has an accent, sounds like Arnold Schwarzeneger…very entertaining! I’ll be back!” —overhead on Twitter

Do you Tweet? We do…Pilates-Pro.com just set up a Twitter profile this month. (You can see our Tweets and follow us at twitter.com/Pilates_Pro_com.) If you’re not sure what Twitter is all about, you’re not alone. For all the press it gets, the social networking site Twitter has yet to reach the critical mass that Facebook has. But if you like Facebook, LinkedIn or MySpace, it’s worth checking out. You can connect with friends, clients and colleagues, promote your business, get breaking news, follow the moves of your favorite celebs and brands—and just waste time—in 140 characters or less. We’re still learning, but it’s been fun so far.

There are some other fun things you can do on Twitter…like eavesdrop. That’s how I found the quote above. Without even being a member, you can search by any term and see what people are saying about it in real time. We searched by “Pilates instructor” and “Pilates teacher.” Here’s more of what we found…

On setting a great example…

“Looks like I’ll be taking Pilates instead of yoga since I met the 75 year-old instructor”

“best pilates class ever! this lady instructor was keep calling Dr. Pilates Uncle Joe… -_- But she had the most amazing arms as a 50 y/o!”

“wonders if pilates is a waste of time? looking at the instructor… probably not.”

Read More West Los Angeles Group Reformer Class!

Sunday Group Reformer starts this weekend!

I'm so excited to start teaching these new small group classes.

So many people have responded with interest in this class! I'm hoping to make the first one memorable enough and fun for the beginners who are attending the class!

If you are interested in an inexpensive weekly class AND are in the West Los Angeles area this weekend, email me! People have had to reschedule for next weekend, so there might be a spot open!

The class is $20 per session...for now! Anyone who goes to ANY of the first month of classes will be locked into this price for several months. Due to facility rents, the price will increase a bit soon! Still, you can expect to get personal attention in this group setting. No matter if the class is 3 people or 6 people, I will always keep my eye on your needs and goals!

Email me anne.pilates at gmail.com for more information!

Group Reformer Classes!

As many of you already know, I'm starting several small group reformer classes at a few different studios in West L.A.
